I’m Gina Gayle Christine Gabrielli, and I was born and raised in Massachusetts with 2 older brothers. My dad, a software engineer, came to the U.S. from Italy in his mid-20’s, and my mother was raised in Colorado. My parents met on a train in Italy while my mother was studying abroad to become a French teacher, and my dad was in the Italian army.
As a kid, I loved to sing and make up stories. I started taking voice lessons in middle school, and then went to Walnut Hill School for the Arts in Natick, MA, where I studied theater and voice. The voice training continued through college, where I majored in Voice/Opera Performance at Syracuse University.
After moving to NYC, I soon found that there were a lot more opportunities in acting than I would ever find as an opera singer, especially in my early 20’s. The acting bug bit me so hard I eventually realized it was where my heart really lives. So, I started doing small budget indie films, student films, commercials and background work and stand-in work in film and TV.
Up til now, some of my favorite projects include: Melanzane e Cioccolato, a short film shot in Italy in Italian with subtitles, a teaser for Law & Order: SVU where I played a ponytailed paintball player (episode “Streetwise”), and one of three female superheroes on the TBS show Are We There Yet?
